This 1300sf timber frame was designed and built with and for Josh's brother Sam Jackson and his brother's wife Kerry Litchfield. With site harvested spruce timbers at the four corners as well as three structural maple forks from the site clearing in the frame, the home incorporates many local materials including T&G roof boards and siding from Morrisville, sugar maple harvested from a nearby farm, white pine timbers and butternut flooring from northern Vermont. The heart and soul of many homes, the kitchen here includes site built cabinetry of white ash and cherry milled and solar dried at Josh and Sam's parents property in Pennsylvania. The home received certification by Efficiency Vermont, and offers excellent thermal performance through the use of foam core panels while a whole house heat recovery ventilation system maintains excellent indoor air quality.
